Product description
A beautiful, unique mixed media piece created from a vintage shuttle.
I stitched the little honey bees from thread, felt and wire. The honeycomb is made from paper and filled with honey coloured resin.
The shuttle is quite a rare find. Most of the shuttles I have are from the mills in the north of England but this one is Japanese. It would have been used to weave the silk for kimonos.
It measures 34cm long, 3cm wide and 4cm deep.
The piece is signed on the back, there is a small ring so that it can be hung on the wall if you wish.
