Product description
Blackthorn blossom along a public footpath is one of the joys of Spring.
I wanted to show how the untended field margins and road side verges can be beautiful. Experimentially, I have left words showing from collage which I hope when noticed will cause people to stop and consider the work for a little longer. . 'A Tapestry of Blossom' took this development into using the paint itself in a different way.
In 2022 – 2023 I completed an Oil Painting Diploma with Martin Kinnear, Norfolk Painting School Live which laid the seeds for change and the foundations for growth in my painting. The starting points for these development were an increased delight in expanding my use of materials to include collage and heavily textured paint and an awareness that my art records my response to the world around me whether nature, people or the man-made environment. I wish to shine a light on places or people that are often overlooked.
