    Background Information about Quirky Metals

Quirky Metals - Jim and Laura Stringer and we graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1989 having studied on the BA (hons) Metalwork and Jewellery Degree. We went to work in Sheffield working in manufacturing and in Education. It was only after having received accolade for our designs that we decided to set up our own workshop and business. We were awarded prizes from The Worshipful Company of Pewters at their annual "Pewter Live" design competition. We set up a small workshop in Meersbrook, Sheffield, and this is where we design and make our work. We are inspired by Nature and the flora and fauna around us.

We design and make quirky pieces in a range of metals including pewter, copper, steel and silver. Designs include giftware, jewellery and quirky homewares. All pieces are individually handcrafted using traditional silversmithing & metalworking techniques.
