Product description
I usually saggar-fire my work, so it has a hint of the unexpected. I've also at times been using underglaze colour in a discreet way to emphasise form.
Background Information about Kay Kennedy
I make unglazed, usually slab-built sculptures of animals. I aim to give them a sense of life and volition. I imagine a point of stillness before action, be that fight or flight. Generally I'm interested in colouring raw clay rather than using glazes, so work mainly with saggar, smoke firing or obvara.
