Background Information about Slate & Silver
Strong and durable, yet still lightweight and delicate, Slate and Silver create unique and dramatic pieces of wearable art out of the underused medium of slate. Sourced from the lake district and hand-cut in the Southwest of Scotland, Slate and Silver play with the different forms of slate to create strikingly different designs across their entire collection.
Whether a bold piece from volcanic green slate to striking blacks and silvers, each piece of jewellery is entirely natural and entirely one of a kind. Once polished to a soft lustre, the slate is then inlaid with silver or bronze to enhance the visuals of the slate itself, creating wearable art that accentuates the patterns and hues of this ancient material. Perfect for both the everyday and special occasions, Slate and Silver provide fantastic handmade slate jewellery that rivals even the best gemstones.
