Product description

This painting simmered through my consciousness through the long months of lock down. I pictured calm waters with a hint of freedom beyond the distant bridge then using a restricted palette of three colours I imagined a landscape where I could see what has been and what may come before the final cold of winter.

I work in vivid colours that stem from a love of stained glass. I try to reproduce their glow and intensity to create Fantastical images, often of gardens and plants: sometimes playful, sometimes atmospheric.

I have an intuitive approach and begin with ad hoc mark making gestural and random.. To these I add colour in blocks and shapes creating a callligraphy until images start to arise. I play with these until a theme develops.
