Most of the work in ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ has been produced in the last 2 years, but Barry has been visiting this theme artistically for 30 or more years. He first encountered the music in 1971 when the prog rock group ‘Emerson, Lake and Palmer’ recorded a live version of the work. Barry had bought and loved the LP. Incidentally Keith Emerson, the virtuoso keyboard player was born in Todmorden.
Barry has especially enjoyed painting and modelling Baba Yaga in all of her wonderful magical forms.
