The wonderfully direct and agreeable nature of working with clay and a fascination for the diversity of ceramics have always been sources of inspiration to me.
I am also strongly influenced by the properties of clay and glaze materials; the forms and surfaces of ancient and contemporary ceramics; aspects of coastal environments and the forms and markings of wild creatures, especially birds
The pots are hand-coiled using a variety of different clay bodies. Glazes, oxides and wax resist are applied and they then undergo a single, or multiple firing, in an electric kiln
