I lived and worked in Scotland for 18 years, and moved to Worcestershire in 2010. Over those years, I worked in a variety of media including textiles and printmaking. Over the last 10 years I have worked in mixed media, and am also learning the crafts of weaving and feltmaking.I have undertaken various private painting commissions and also a textiles commission for the Archdiocese of Edinburgh, to produce a Lourdes pilgimage banner.
I have always been inspired by the textures, colours and shapes found in nature, and over the years my work has become more abstract to reflect my fascination with colour and how it works with different textures and materials. My work is now very richly layered and harks back, in many ways, to the textiles work I produced some years ago. I am very much influenced by the work of Hundertwasser and Klimt, to name but a few.
