My fascination with reptiles and amphibians, their colour, shape and movement has influenced my work for the past decade.
Using hand building techniques and stoneware clay I try to capture a moment in these creatures lives; the slow balancing act of a chameleon or a 'ready to spring' pose of a frog. These are images that I recall from my earliest frogspawn hunting trips as a child to visiting the reptiles in the vivarium at Manchester Museum or sketching the Komodo dragons at Chester zoo.
The colours and textures I use are slowly increasing as I experiment with glazes, metallic oxides and body stains,
So many lizards, so many glazes, so much to learn - I hope you enjoy the work I produce on my journey.
