Deiniol Williams

Working with grey or red stoneware clay, Deiniol Williams’s ceramic practice explores the dichotomy between rhythm and discord, balance and disorder. Acting as the calm to the clays storm, his hands guide the material into eye-catching shapes and designs, creating vases, bowls, platters and bottles that only enhance their surroundings. Before coating his creations in a gorgeous ash glaze, he seeks to find the harmonious point between the flow of the potter’s wheel and the chaotic inclusions within the clay, which then distort and almost to the point of destruction, unique impressive works.
