Josephine Gornall
Freelance fibre artist specialising in the ancient art of felt making by manipulation and transformation of dyed wools with a variety of silk, mohair and synthetic fibres embedding muslin and chiffon fabrics. She designs contemporary wall hangings and freestanding sculptural works exploring a rich palette of colours vivid, complimentary and contrasting purples, pinks, turquoises, blues, oranges.
Her current inspiration; organic flowing forms with felted relief work juxtaposing them with discarded electronic parts, some of which are beautiful in isolation within the layered, textural surface. Using a medium that is natural and sustainable combined with the excessive detritus of current society.
