Stephen Rothwell

Stephen has exhibited widely throughout the UK, Europe and US. As a professional illustrator his illustration work spans album covers, magazines, and book covers.

Rothwell uses a wide range of  techniques his work, both traditional and digital, combining his own photography with found imagery and photographs from his archive of early photography  with  painting , drawing and whatever else works in the moment to create a cohesive and believable whole. “I don't have a  particular image in mind when I start, I just begin and see what emerges, refining and resolving as I go until the image completes itself.”
