Autumn 2022 - Gallery Artists
15 September - 30 October
This Autumn we will fill the gallery with works given a new airing - some from our storage racks you may not have viewed for a while. Also a second view of works you may have missed recently while away on your hols.
Fascinating hypothetical scenarios by Gordon Cain using 3D modelling software - large scale works, and the narrative dioramas by Gavin Lavelle, who incorporates found objects alongside cutouts, but never OTT. Alongside are dark visionary prints by Stephen Rothwell. A calming feel to Shelley Burgoyne’s circular etching / linocuts, a scientific enquiry, are good antidote. Another showing of John Cook Ceramics jaunty and colourful ceramics are well worth viewing, alongside the earthy textured vases by Mary Johnson, inspired by allotments and garden.
Established painters Margaret Shields, Barry De More and David Wiseman are both central to our collection, in this exhibition showing works of local interest. As darkness draws closer, we will never forget the rich colours of Autumn in Liz Salters free flowing mixed media works. Leaning towards abstraction we have direct and sensory small oil paintings by Dominic Vince.
We also have a commemorative small selection of works by Duncan Pearson, who sadly died earlier this year, (there is an exhibition in the pipeline)
More artists will be included as the exhibition grows …
