Exhibitions
We host a dynamic range of exhibitions—solo, group, open, and themed—embracing both digital innovation and hands-on engagement. With two main galleries, a craft space, and a gift shop, we proudly showcase established and emerging talents while welcoming everyone, from collectors and first-time buyers to browsers and the simply curious.
Our annual Open Exhibitions invite new voices to share their creativity, while rotating solo shows explore diverse genres—still life, landscape, abstraction, sculpture, and more. Previous highlights include The Darkness and the Light, The Gardens of Earthly Delight (2014), and A Modern Bestiary (21-22), each offering a fresh perspective on contemporary art.
Past solo exhibitions have featured:
• Gallery owner Mike Holcroft’s Flowers… Plants and Other Stories (2011)
• Ian Taylor’s witty assemblages in Elastic (2012)
• Newcomer Lucy Atherton’s intuitive The Place Lives (2015)
• David Wiseman’s large-scale acrylics in The Water’s Edge
• Linda Brill’s contemplative oils in Contemporary Still Life
• Northern artist Margaret Shields with From Sea to Shore
• Todmorden-based Barry Cook’s vibrant Journey to the Moon (2019)
Further Highlights from Past Exhibitions
Across subcategories of the Past Exhibitions archive, you’ll find a wide spectrum of showcases, from collaborative themed displays (such as Fake – Steal – Forge and Naked Raku) to solo artist retrospectives. These exhibitions frequently feature works spanning painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and mixed media—demonstrating our commitment to celebrating creativity in all its forms. Whether spotlighting established talents or introducing emerging artists, each show aims to inspire curiosity, dialogue, and appreciation for the visual arts.
