Product description
The image represents the view across the meadow to a soon to be defunct method of generating electricity
Cooling the yellow fields is inspired by the view across the rapeseed field to Drax power station. The work references the contrast between the stunning beauty of the yellow blooms with the now almost defunct cooling towers at Selby. I invite the viewer to consider the huge changes in our landscape and the potential for renewal.
After a career as a lecturer in Art and design at Huddersfield I am now retired and relishing the opportunity to develop my art practice. I trained in Textiles at Glasgow School of Art and followed this with a postgraduate in Textile art at Goldsmiths college.
