Product description
Made entirely from machine embroidery and suggestive of ethereal fragiity, these flora and fauna are deceivingly robust. The butterfly is entirely embroidered, with the edges sealed so that the embroidery does not fray. Each butterfly and other creatures are also hand painted.
I have always loved art and crafts and grew up in a creative and crafty home. My imagination was possibly even more creative and I dreamed of fairies, elves and goblins living in the surrounding Cotswold countryside. Over the years my passion for embroidery developed into a journey that took me to Manchester where I wrote about fairies in my dissertation (yes, really!) and achieved a degree in Embroidery.
After a few years out in the 'real world' working as a Embroidery Digitiser, my journey led me on to London where I achieved a Master's degree in Textile Design and created dresses inspired by the old versions of fairy tales. Since then I have been designing and making dresses, unique bridalwear, accessories and jewellery inspired by nature, fairy tales and fantasy. I love to make beautiful, precious accessories to be treasured. Recently my work has evolved into wall art too. I mix traditional hand stitch and hand painting with digital techniques of stitch and print. My work develops from initial drawings and studies and then passes through many processes of dye, print, stitch, cutwork and heat manipulation that focus on craft and attention to detail.
