Valérie Wartelle is a contemporary fibre artist based in West Yorkshire. Valérie works with a combination of fibres, threads, textiles and print elements to create artfelt pieces inspired by land, sea and sky scapes.
Brought up in France and French Polynesia, Valérie came to the UK to study Textile Design. After working in the fashion industry and local government, Valérie recently returned to her first love of constructed textiles, developing a refined and distinctive feel to her felt work. Valérie’s artwork creates ephemeral moments and moods that yet will feel familiar – an invitation to amble into our own serenity.
