In our modern society of rapid progress and future ambitions, it’s easy to lose appreciation for the natural wonders that surround us. With ‘Beneath’, I want to illuminate the captivating ocean environment - a realm of marvels we have barely begun to grasp. My aim with this piece is to evoke the vibrant ecosystems unfolding under the sea's surface, far from our distracted gaze. Though we race onwards, spectacular mystery still flourishes below.

Liz, a London-based linocut printmaker, draws endless inspiration from the vibrant colors and intricate patterns that define the natural world. Drawing from the rich diversity of marine life, botanicals, organic forms, and the detailed line work of topographic maps, her designs come to life with a playful and colorful style. Her work reflects both the beauty and fragility of the planet, exploring the delicate balance between nature’s resilience and the environmental changes that threaten it.


Whether she is capturing the vibrant ecosystems flourishing beneath the ocean’s surface or illustrating the gradual transformations of the Earth's landscapes, Liz’s work serves as both a celebration of nature’s wonders and a reminder of its vulnerability. Her intricate designs invite viewers to reconnect with the natural world, encouraging a sense of awe and appreciation for the delicate beauty that often goes unnoticed. By combining bold, playful colors with thoughtful depictions of environmental themes, Liz hopes to inspire others to reflect on the impact we have on the planet and to foster a deeper respect for its preservation.

With a background in digital design, Liz has rekindled her passion for fine art, diving into the world of relief printing and exploring the traditional technique of linocut. This approach, a stark departure from the precision of her digital work, allows her to celebrate the unique imperfections that arise during the printing process. Liz finds joy in the surprises that occur when lifting the paper to reveal a print, where mistakes often turn into happy accidents, bringing a spontaneity sometimes absent from the digital realm.

Liz is also a member of the London print collective Pressing Plate and a membeer of Running Jump Studios in North London. She has recently showcased at the Cave Gallery in London and the Fox Yard Studio in Suffolk.
