Barges on Todmorden Canal - 37

Product description

With this painting and the number of different elements I was going to use to make a painting, success would only come by making constant changes, the barge on the left was added to give extra weight and to make a more pleasing arrangement as the painting developed.
Included in the painting was the problem of Fielden Wharf Fish Sculpture which was in stark juxtaposition to every other part of the painting. The whole of the painting had to work coherently without any emphasis being made to any particular reference point.
