Colin Binns is a contemporary artist working in mixed media painting and drawing, based at his studio on the coast of North West England. He explores ideas of place, memory and myth, an approach that has generated a portfolio of strikingly bold paintings and drawings through line, colour, texture, and collage

Portrait and figurative work initially occupied a substantial part of his practice, but recent years have seen Colin’s paintings explore more abstract ideas based on a sense of place, memory and personal myth. This has generated his current portfolio of strikingly bold paintings using vigorous colours and textures to express his ideas.

His practice involves combinations of paint, print, photography, collage and found materials, making responses to locations that hold a personal significance
